80's and 90's

Ok so, last sunday we had a little kid in our primary class say to another little girl in our class, "Say it, don't spray it." Me and Jason of course were trying hard not to laugh, but honestly that is so old school... I couldn't figure out who he had heard that from....obviously someone older....so when we got home, we started to think of funny saying that we use to say in elementary, and junior high school.......Like"Syck"....who says that......no one any more of course....Ok so this is where you come in...TELL me the funny things that you use to say to your friends, or family....

How funny...ok so I know this is a family friendly blog but I do have to share a funny story...so when I was in 4-6th grade, my best friend and I used to add "ness" to the end of words. Like "grossness" and so on...so one night after dinner my mom and I were cleaning up the dishes and I was dishing the leftovers into a tupperware(we had had rice, chicken and peas...sad I can still remember) and there happened to be just 1 pea on top of the chicken and rice leftovers and I exclaimed "of my peaness!" Not even thinking twice about what I had really just said. My mom started hysterically laughing and I honestly didn't get it for a couple of minutes but once I realized what I had said we both were laughing for the rest of the night.
Ok so that was a really dumb, long story but I still think it is funny and it was well over a decade ago....

What a great blog post for all of us who loved the 80's and 90's, myself included. On a walk the other day my 4yr old nephew ran past and shouted "see ya, wouldn't wanna be ya"....I totally cracked up!!

"I know you are but what am I?" or maybe, "don't have a cow man!" You know stuff like that. But I just have to say that primary kids are the best! I work in Primary too and its pretty interesting some weeks! I love it!

Ending almost every sentence with "NOT!" (I want to go to school today....NOT!) I also overused the word "Punky Power!" because I was totally infatuated with Punky Brewster.

I don't know how far this one goes back but "your mom" was popular when I was in school. My 12 year old sister came home from her first day of school all annoyed because some boy in one of her classes said that. She's like, "who even says that anymore, that was only cool when you were in school Audra." My reply, "Thanks Desiree now eat your burrito and shut up!" What a pill, but I did think it was funny that she thinks I'm soo old, as if 22 is like 50 to her.

"Take a chill pill" but I was never very with it. Lately Ive been noticing that I'm still not with it. There are a couple of friends of mine who I ask what things mean like "fo shizzle." I just found out what that one means...

doy, NOT, duh, don't have a cow, take a chill pill. My sister and I used to make fun of all the Utah people that said "Oh my heck." But, then we moved to Utah and started saying it too. My cousin used to like to describe things as "raunchy."

Hi Val, it's been like forever since we talked. Okay, I am a little older then you and most of the people that blog on a regular basis. But the word I have used most of my life is "whatever" and now all my kids say it too. Not so old school but is funny how we pass those things along.

Hahaha! It's so fum to read and remember these--good idea Val. I remember "dude" and a bunch of skater words--"totally tubular" stands out. The word "dude" really makes me cringe now though.
